Take it to the Limit! Welcome back to read EuroRC Hobby Letter - Worlds only philosophic-mechanical RC blog full with non-AI generated random thoughts from and around our beloved hobby!

This time we take it to the extremes and figure out what is extreme RC and while fun, why its not always the best attitude to fool around!

Extreme Fun

For most of us, RC is one way to have fun - just like any other hobby it takes our mind away from everyday BS and helps us concentrate. I can assure, the moment when you smash your car to traffic sign with high speed and see those parts flying all around you don't think your day at the office! It may not be always fun but at least it gives your brain something else to grind.

Chasing those dopamine moments may be addictive and just like any other hobby, more experience and confidence you gain, faster and harder you go! Just ask any motocross driver or mountain biker. More you eat, more your hunger grows! This leads us to the dangerous slopes of extremeness that seems to be always at the deep end of every hobby.

Extremely Safe

Yes, RC Cars can be dangerous! Always mind your surroundings bro while giving that beer can to your friend to hold. What makes difference here is that you can get safe (ok pretty safe) extreme kicks with remote controlled cars while your body and soul are staying away from the danger.

I have absolutely no need to go slope skiing in off piste at dangerous mountains. No thank you but I will visit you at the hospital. But to send my beaten basher truck off from the cliff just to see where it ends.. oh yes! Blasting around with RC Car releases the very same dopamines from your brain than any other satisfying action you do, there is no really difference here.

RC is a healthy sport! Let your truck do the stunts while you stay comfortable few steps away from dangers.

Explore your Extremes

I encourage you to find your limits as a driver and to find the limits of your car. Playing at the extreme end will make you a better driver while sometimes the extremely thin marginal is gone and your car becomes a projectile. 

Extreme driving may end up to extreme wrenching but it has already pushed you a little bit further in your hobby. Next time you know when to steer and not to throttle!

Professional drivers hardly go to extremes. They've been there already.

If you always play safe you wont find those borders. And I don't mean that you should start immediately bash without any brain here with you truck. Explore and find your limits! 

There is also a reason why professional RC drivers hardly or actually never take it to the extremes. They are more likely to actually avoid the extremes to keep their performance high and car in the line. But to avoid those extremes - you need to go there first. 

Defy Gravity! Piloting a Comp Crawler is extremely hard and they go to extreme places.

Danger Zone

Anyone can take their car and just send it. High powered modern RC cars can take some very seriously extreme beating these days and fun is assured! But what separates a newbie from professional is that pro can see when the marginal is getting thin and when not go over the extremely thin border. 

This is actually why I love to play with 2WD trucks, they are always a bit out-of-the-hand, giving me the feeling that I am almost losing the grip! It may be very mild level of extreme but it is still pretty extreme - car is almost out of control and I am playing at the very narrow area where I can still handle it.

To bash it in to nutshell - to be extreme does not always mean that you need to go fast and furious. Heck, even a Scale Crawler can be extremely realistic and is extremely hard to build. Insanely fast going drag car may not necessarily be extreme at all. It is just fast if you don't take it to its limit. 

Another question is that does it have to be extreme and taken to the deep end. Maybe it is enough that it is just faster than others!
