Welcome back, HPI Racing! Hobby Letter #17/21

Hello everyone! Heikki from EuroRC here with some good news from our warehouse! Last weeks have been very busy for us as we have been handling and shipping your orders more than ever before! Huge thanks! To keep our good people at our Storage Vaults busy in future too, we decided to get a grip from a true pioneer of RC, HPI Racing!

..but what is that at our first picture? Is it a Real or RC? You tell me!

"But they ded!"

Common mistake, it's ok! And no, HPI-Racing is not dead. This rumor is still rotating strong in the internets. It's true that their fate was almost sealed few years back and that their legendary brand was drifting at the void for some time. Thanks to folks at Vestergaard Denmark, HPI and its legacy has finally ended up in to good hands.

HPI has always been one of the Big Names of RC. They've been around since -86 and without them our world would look very different. RS4 for example was one of the first cars designed especially for Touring with its shaft driven 4WD chassis.

HPI is also to remember about it is their brilliant selection of RC bodies. For a while it was really starting to look that we would have to live in a future without their top notch scale realism and high quality. Some of their most legendary bodies are still so popular that we hardly get them added to shop and they're already gone!

Savage Gardens

HPI is for sure more than just set of fancy RC bodies. Their cars have always been on the better side of the RC and were very popular back in the days. Many of you may remember especially their larger scale, fuel powered 1/5 Baja trucks. Racers today still pause for a moment when hearing the name of HPI's race line, Hot Bodies.

The Original HPI Savage has also a legendary status among the bashing crowd as being one of the first true nitro powered monster trucks out there. We were lucky to capture few wild Savage XLs in stock and what else to say that this beast is Big, Bad and Heavy! Rather than being just a buggy on steroids, Savage XL equips a Twin Vertical Plate chassis like a real monster truck should. Brushless 2200Kv Flux motor is 6S ready to slam the bulletproof powertrain with forged gears. Proven to be durable after the decade of continuous bombing, Savage XL is ready to rip your local skate park or dust bowl to beyond recognition. Did I mention that this Monster Truck is heavier than your Arrma buggy? Like, a lot heavier!

I have good memories about HPI. My first modern day RC was a 2WD Blitz that I've since tuned to go way too fast so that it is beyond any control. Big fat respect to my homies too and looking forward to win all of our backyard battles again this coming summer! Yes, this indeed is a declaration for war!

We here at EuroRC are more than happy to have HPI Racing in our portfolio. For example this iconic RS4 Sport 3 Flux 2003 Ford GT Heritage Edition is something that will really catch some envious looks at your local track.

Xray XB2 2WD buggy project continues! I know that true mecchas build these kits faster than I eat breakfast. I, however, always take my time with my projects. I spend time looking at the instructions, then looking at the parts and then instructions again.. Maybe putting one screw and then look at the instructions.. I know, I know, it is so thrilling to put these together!

Once again I vow for the quality that Xray puts in their designs. Everything is just so over the top in precision. Xray instruction book is more than just an assembly guide as it is packed with setup tips for different surfaces and other very useful RC knowledge. For me who is newbie for faster racing all this info is pure gold. Here is where I am at with my "Reiska" at the moment. Shocks should be built next..
