Hey Folks how is the mud flying? Heikki here again, I hope you've had good week. I had some great fun last weekend while testing the new FTX Outback Texan 4x4 Trail Truck! It was surprisingly capable out from the box and also very waterproof. If you are looking for decent crawler with great looks - check out the Texan! Anyhow it is time again to educate ourselves with some RC knowledge. Today we take legendary aftermarket and hop-up part manufacturer, a true legend among the RC scene - RPM RC Products on the table! Let's see what they are made of!

Rohart Precision Molds

RPM has been around for a long time. Established in 1974 by Richard Royall this plastic mold and injection molding facility will be celebrating their 50th birthday in just few years! Originally RPM was producing plastic parts and molds for commercial and industrial use, such as medical equipment and sprinklers.

In to RC they got in the mid 80's when Mr. Royalls friend from Custom Racing Products was complaining about the current molds they were using for their RC wheels. Royall took the comission, made new molds for them and the customer was blown away with high quality finish of the products that RPM was able to make in their plant.

Christmas Gifts

Same friend from CRP got Mr. Royall interested about RC cars. A true game changer for RPM was a Team Associated RC10 that Mr. Royall gave as Christmas present for his son. Playing with the toys is what kids do and soon the breaking of the parts begun. First part he designed for RC10 was a longer and more durable A-arms. In my eyes this is parenting as it's best - using your tools and knowledge to make your children happy!

For a first few years all RC parts RPM made were sold under the name of Andys RC Products - another legendary name from the dusty pages of RC history. Since then RPM has made many other people happy too with their premium plastics and with their own name in the label.

Cornerstone of Aftermarket

It is hard to imagine RC scene today without RPM. Their products are everywhere and I am pretty sure that you have some too or will have one day. They are a great example of a company that has stayed in their shoes and have keep doing what they do best. Today they produce a wide selection of aftermarket and hop-up parts for almost every RC car out there. Especially bashing scene loves their durable plastics, and one sign of quality is that RPM guarantees that their parts dont break! Some people even remove the factory plastics from their RTR and replace them with RPM parts before driving one meter with it.We here at EuroRC are more than happy to have RPM at our selections. Xray XB2 buggy project going on strong! And when I say strong I do not mean fast! Promised to keep you updated weekly and as you can see I have already make it to the second page! Building process so far has been a pleasure, parts are just perfect in quality but what else can you except from a RC Kit that is made in Europe! Xrays Luxurious RC Car Kits are highly tunable. From the pic above you can see that even the height of differential can be adjusted to suit your needs! As a boring and unoriginal person I feel safe to go with factory settings at this point. Instructions are meant to be followed, right?
