XRS EuroRC Finland Race Report

The XRS EuroRC Finland race held last weekend on 23^rd of November at FullspeedRC on-road track at Hakkila in Finland. Relaxing format of the race attracted fastest on-road drivers from all over the country, Estonia and Russia as well to race touring car modified and stock classes, Euro Truck, C-12 and GT-12 classes.

In the beginning it was obvious that local wheel king Team Associated factory driver Karri Salmela was a man to beat in touring car modified class at his home track. He had spent thousands laps of track time for refining equipment and had definitely an ace up in the sleeve.

Karri was struggling to keep all the wheels of his car on the surface in qualifiers meanwhile Juho Levänen with an Xray clocked fastest times in two of three runs and took valued TQ spot followed by Karri on 2^nd and Pekko Iivonen of Schumacher on 3^rd respectively.

The mains were thriller and the battle for the win was between Karri and Juho. The rest of the pack had no speed to challenge these two. Karri kept wheels on the ground and kept constant pressure with aggressive driving on Juho forcing him to make tiny mistakes. The mistakes made a room for a pass in first and second mains and Karri fly over the finish line at first with slight margin over Juho securing overall win of the race.
